  1. Physical Installation:
  • Choose a Location: Select a central location considering factors like the desired coverage area and existing network infrastructures with minimal obstructions for optimal Wi-Fi coverage.
  • Mounting: Using the included mounting brackets and hardware, securely attach the U7 Pro to a wall or ceiling. Ensure it's firmly mounted to prevent it from falling.

     2. Network Connection and Power:

  • Connect the Ethernet Cable: Connect an Ethernet cable from the U7 Pro to a PoE+ (802.3at) enabled port on a UniFi switch or a separate PoE+ injector to provide both data and power to the access point.
  • Connect to Network: If you are using a cloud-based UniFi controller, ensure the switch or injector is connected to your network and has internet access.

    3. Adoption and Configuration in UniFi Controller:

  • Access UniFi Controller: On the computer or mobile device, launch the UniFi Network Application.
  • Adopt the U7 Pro: The controller should show "Pending Adoption" for the U7 Pro. After selecting it, click "Adopt."
  • Firmware Update (if needed): During the adoption process, the U7 Pro's firmware could be upgraded on its own.
  • Configure Wi-Fi Settings: After adoption, you can use the UniFi controller to set up the Wi-Fi settings, including the network name (SSID), password, and other advanced settings.
